Job Title: Systems Engineer III

Shift: Day Shift

This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a sustainable future and be part of a dynamic team driving the electric vehicle revolution. We are looking for committed professionals to join us as full-time, on-site team members at our state-of-the-art facility.

Role Summary: The Systems Engineer III will act as a technical authority in the domain of infrastructure related to manufacturing information systems. The engineer will explore methodologies and design solutions to ensure a high level of service for end-users of the applications. This role involves the development, maintenance, and troubleshooting of a rapidly evolving application system and its supporting infrastructure. The Engineer will collaborate closely with fellow engineers, analysts, and management to gather regular feedback on design and implementation. Furthermore, the Engineer will provide ongoing operational support and maintenance of the manufacturing systems.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Manage, optimize, troubleshoot, upgrade, install, and document infrastructure associated with manufacturing applications, including Linux and Windows servers, switches, firewalls, DNS, hypervisors/virtual servers, storage arrays, IPAM, access controls, and related systems.
  • Oversee the administration of both new and existing technologies, which includes designing, documenting, installing, configuring, maintaining, integrating, and testing manufacturing-related systems.
  • Collaborate with business users to ascertain hardware, middleware, and application requirements.
  • Work alongside software developers, manufacturing engineers, DevOps engineers, analysts, and management to maintain the integrity of databases, application software, and manufacturing data.
  • Conduct regular system monitoring to verify the integrity, health, and availability of all systems and key processes, review application and system logs, and ensure the completion of scheduled jobs.
  • Lead problem-solving initiatives regarding system and service issues and, if necessary, coordinate support with external personnel, organizations, and vendors.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and introduce innovative ideas and solutions.
  • Develop new deliverables as needed based on operational requirements while adhering to best practices for documentation and distribution.
  • Perform hardware and application troubleshooting related to the manufacturing process.
  • Configure and deploy devices and peripherals as required.
  • Address issues, problems, and inquiries on-site as assigned through a ticketing system.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, including SOX compliance.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:

  • To ensure workplace health and safety, wearing PPE may be necessary and could include equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, bump cap, and a full hazmat suit with a respirator.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Basic/Required: Bachelor's degree in information systems or a related field, and/or equivalent relevant work experience.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in a large business or enterprise environment.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience in data center operations.
  • Technical expertise in cloud infrastructure (such as AWS or Azure), enterprise networking, virtualization (such as VMware or Hyper-V), Server OS (Windows, Linux), Storage Arrays and/or SANs, data center hardware, and monitoring platforms.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written), including the ability to explain and present technical information effectively.
  • Ability to train and assist users on information technology issues.
  • Proficient in preparing clear and concise written documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, flexible environment and take the initiative to learn new tools and concepts quickly.
  • Creative thinker with strong attention to detail, analytical, multitasking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Approachable and adaptable; this is a start-up environment where priorities may shift frequently.
  • Willingness to work extended hours or outside of normal business hours, including weekends as needed.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Must possess working-level proficiency in the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking.
