Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of the entire product life-cycle, from initial concept through to production and ongoing support.
  • Design mechanical components and assemblies with a strong emphasis on manufacturability, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Conduct engineering calculations to ascertain the dimensions and strength of components.
  • Address design challenges and verify computations to contribute to analytical designs.
  • Prepare, modify, and release CAD drawings (Siemens NX) to ensure the fit, form, and function of mechanical designs.
  • Validate the structural integrity of designs by testing prototypes for reliability and compliance with aviation standards.
  • Utilize engineering methodologies such as FMEAs, FEA, and DFMA to substantiate design content.
  • Assess materials and components for new designs, engaging with both existing and potential suppliers.
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to provide insights into design solutions and participate in design evaluations.

Qualifications:

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field. In the absence of a degree, 6 years of pertinent experience is required. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in designing mechanical systems for commercial aircraft interiors.
  • Proficiency in Siemens NX or other 3D CAD software.
  • Familiarity with Product Data Management (PDM) tools such as Teamcenter.
  • Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles.
  • Understanding of FAA regulations is advantageous.
