Position Overview:

This role will primarily focus on solvent recovery systems, encompassing condensation, activated carbon adsorption, and distillation processes. The engineer will be involved in both pre-sale and post-sale engineering activities related to this equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze customer inquiries and devise a technical solution for proposal.
  • Conduct process calculations and determine equipment sizing to align with customer specifications and overall strategy.
  • Examine customer specifications to ensure compliance or identify exceptions.
  • Create specifications for procured components based on customer needs and technical application requirements.
  • Clearly outline the scope of work and develop corresponding cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with designers to enhance equipment layout for projects.
  • Evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes for adherence to specifications and completeness.
  • Engage with the Sales team to facilitate communication with customers.
  • Generate Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for proposals and projects.
  • Provide ongoing process engineering support to projects once they are confirmed as orders.
  • Drive product enhancements and standardization of designs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues with operational equipment.
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a strong aptitude for process engineering and be comfortable addressing issues related to industrial equipment. The successful applicant will effectively translate solutions into customer proposals and assist the Operations team in executing projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with liquid systems, particularly organic liquids.
  • Experience in critically reviewing engineering, fabrication, or installation drawings.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of process equipment design.
  • Working knowledge of common process equipment such as:
    • Fans
    • Pumps
    • Valves
    • Heat Exchangers
    • Instrumentation
    • Tanks
  • Experience with Air Pollution Control equipment.
  • Familiarity with EPA test methods and regulations.
  • Proficiency in software tools including:
    • Microsoft Office Suite
    • Microsoft Visio
    • Solidworks
    • AutoCAD
    • SAP
Additional Information:
  • This position is salaried and may require occasional overtime, weekend, and holiday work.
  • Physical Demands: The primary duties are computer-based; on-site responsibilities may involve climbing stairs and ladders, as well as inspecting equipment internally.
