Position Overview:
Panasonic Energy of North America (PENA) is on the lookout for a dedicated Senior Logistics Strategist to join our Supply Chain team. This pivotal role will involve direct collaboration and influence within the Supply Chain sector, working closely alongside the Commercial Sales and Manufacturing teams. You will be an integral part of the Kansas Supply Chain Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement both short-term and long-term demand forecasting processes to enhance production materials, manage raw materials inventory, and optimize finished goods stock.
  • Ensure alignment with the commercial team regarding monthly and annual demand for finished goods.
  • Maintain uninterrupted manufacturing throughput.
  • Assist in the deployment of advanced supply chain planning tools to improve inventory management and provide real-time visibility, ensuring that digital investments yield a positive return on investment aligned with business goals.
  • Collaborate with the PENA Technology team to support the rollout of a new SAP ERP system.
  • Prepare and participate in supply chain planning performance reviews and approval meetings.
  • Formulate, present, and execute action plans to achieve set commitments and optimization initiatives that enhance PENA's quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
  • Work closely with the Panasonic North America Commercial Organization to grasp customer demand and production requirements.
  • Offer functional expertise in Supply Chain planning to guide and advise management.
  • Enhance personal skills through training, project opportunities, and individual development plans.
  • Lead the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process in collaboration with the PENA Commercial team and various OEM customers.
  • Partner with production teams to ensure plans are aligned and production is optimized to meet daily and weekly objectives.

Education Requirements:

  • Basic/Required: BA/BS in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Preferred: MBA is advantageous.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in Supply Chain.
  • 8 years of experience in Supply/Demand Planning.
  • Experience in Sales/Sales Operations is a plus.
  • Certifications such as ASCM/APICS and/or PMP are beneficial.
  • Experience in the Energy, Technology, Automotive, or Manufacturing sectors.
  • Operational transformation experience, including ERP and SCM Systems implementation.
  • Proven track record in establishing a best-in-class Demand Planning process.
  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills to identify risks and opportunities in Demand Planning.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and writing abilities.
  • Data analytical skills to inform decision-making.
  • Capability to resolve complex issues and propose alternative solutions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels and with external customers and suppliers.
  • Cross-cultural communication skills to engage with Japanese colleagues and business leaders in English.
  • Collaboration and influencing capabilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

About Panasonic:
As part of its expansion strategy, Panasonic is constructing a large-scale Li-ion battery manufacturing facility. This role is intended for a full-time on-site position.
