Position Summary:
The Housing Opportunities Commission of Montgomery County (HOC) is dedicated to addressing the community's need for affordable housing solutions. Established in 1974, HOC has the authority to acquire, manage, and develop housing, while also facilitating financial assistance and social services to enhance resident support.
Role Description:
We are currently seeking a Temporary Administrative Assistant within our Public Affairs Division. This role is crucial in providing high-level administrative support to the Vice President of Public Affairs & Communications, ensuring the smooth operation of executive tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of office protocols to effectively coordinate project tasks, including the review of specialized reports and the dissemination of information.
- Manage and organize meetings, interviews, and appointments efficiently.
- Maintain an organized system for tracking incoming correspondence and action documents, ensuring timely follow-ups.
- Review all correspondence for accuracy and completeness prior to obtaining necessary signatures.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly reports and materials for the Legislative and Regulatory Committee.
- Provide additional support to the Housing Opportunities Community Partners organization as required.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- A minimum of four years of progressively responsible experience in a secretarial or clerical role within an office setting.
Education:
- A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience is required.
Skills and Competencies:
- In-depth understanding of office management principles and procedures.
- Proficient in managing large and complex filing systems.
- Skilled in using personal computers and associated equipment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace for email and file management.
- Ability to draft clear and concise correspondence.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sound judgment.
