Key Responsibilities
  • Project Coordination: Directly supervise and coordinate activities of numerous minor construction projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project plans.
  • Supervisory Functions: Perform supervisory and management functions, reporting to the Program Manager, and may engage in construction trades work as needed.
  • Quality Control: Supervise crews to obtain top-quality workmanship, efficiency, employee satisfaction, morale, communication, commitment, teamwork, and pride.
  • Administrative Tasks: Reviews and verifies crew time sheets and submits to Payroll on specified days.
  • Problem-Solving: Recognizes and communicates any priority projects or problems, such as employee or job costing issues and complaints from clients.
  • Safety and Incident Reporting: Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed, bringing problems to the attention of the Construction Manager, Safety Department, or HR Manager.
  • Subcontract Coordination: Coordinate subcontract work onsite for all trades assigned to the project.
Supervisory Responsibilities

The Construction Superintendent will be responsible for coordinating, directing, and leading workers engaged in construction activities. This includes:

  • Coordinating Work Activities: Coordinates, directs, and leads workers engaged in construction activities.
  • Education and Experience: A high school diploma or GED is required, along with a minimum of 5 to 10 years of related skill, knowledge, or experience in construction practices.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: The successful candidate must possess basic knowledge of administration and management, including planning, allocating resources, managing production, and coordinating people and equipment.

  • Experience: A minimum of 5 to 10 years of related skill, knowledge, or experience in construction practices.

Work Environment

The Construction Superintendent will work regularly indoors and outdoors in all types of weather conditions, including snow, rain, sleet, extreme winds, or ice storms. The position may require working near moving mechanical parts and/or vibration, and may be exposed to extreme temperatures, hot and cold, as part of environmental factors.
