Position Overview:

The Estimator is responsible for the meticulous preparation and coordination of comprehensive estimates for large-scale and intricate projects, adhering to client specifications. This role entails delivering complete conceptual and total bid pricing.

Qualifications:
  • Preferred: Associate's degree
  • Required: Background in construction with proficiency in interpreting blueprints and specifications
  • Proficient in standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and familiarity with digital takeoff software
  • Experience with customer relationship management tools
  • Strong multitasking abilities
  • Detail-oriented with the capacity to meet strict deadlines
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Positive and courteous interaction with clients and colleagues
  • Ability to maintain prolonged periods of sitting
Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze construction documents to grasp the required scope of work
  • Communicate with general contractors, architects, vendors, and team members through various channels
  • Employ digital takeoff software for on-screen evaluations of the project scope
  • Input takeoff data into the estimating system
  • Source materials and vendors for custom items
  • Gather vendor pricing for outsourced materials and labor
  • Solicit bids from subcontractors
  • Compile supporting documentation for estimates
  • Conduct cost analysis by recalculating expenses related to materials, labor, equipment, and overhead
  • Generate estimates when standard benchmarks are unavailable
  • Notify supervisors of any discrepancies in estimates or databases
  • Collaborate with Senior Estimators and Sales to finalize estimates
  • Utilize the in-house ERP system for overall project estimates
  • Transfer knowledge to project teams upon project award
  • Participate in networking events and occasional travel as required
