Position Overview:

The Estimator is accountable for developing and/or overseeing the creation of comprehensive estimates for substantial and intricate projects in accordance with client specifications.

This role involves delivering complete conceptual and total bid pricing.

Required Qualifications:
Preferred Associate's degree
Background in construction with proficiency in interpreting blueprints and specifications
Proficient computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, and ideally On-Screen Takeoff or similar digital material takeoff software)
Familiarity with social media platforms (e.g., Salesforce or Facebook)
Capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong attention to detail and ability to adhere to strict deadlines
Professional appearance is essential
Must maintain a courteous and positive attitude towards both internal and external clients (in-person and via phone)
Capability to remain seated for extended periods (up to 10 hours daily)

Key Responsibilities:
Analyze construction documents to gain insight into the required scope of work
Communicate with general contractors, architects, vendors, and team members through various channels as necessary
Employ computer takeoff software to execute onscreen takeoffs of the required scope of work.
Enter takeoff data into the system
Research materials and vendors for custom/non-stock items.
Acquire vendor pricing for outsourced materials and/or labor.
Solicit bids from subcontractors.
Utilize job folders to compile supporting documentation (vendor pricing, correspondence)
Conduct cost analysis in the system by recalculating material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead costs associated with the installation of items
In instances where predetermined standards are unavailable, generate an estimate
Notify immediate supervisor of any identified inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or the database
Collaborate with Senior Estimators/Peers/Sales to review takeoffs, plans, scope of work, and final estimates
Partner with Senior Estimators/Peers/Sales to finalize estimates
Complete overall project estimates using the in-house ERP system
Meet with the project team to transfer all relevant knowledge once projects are awarded
Attend networking events and engage in light travel (which may require evening hours) as directed by your supervisor

Working Environment:
This position operates within a professional office setting. This role routinely utilizes standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, and copiers.

While performing the duties of this job, the team member may frequently encounter fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibrations.
