Role Summary

The Senior Quantity Surveyor operates with minimal oversight, tasked with the independent application of Planning and Progress Measurement protocols, Quantity Surveying, Cost Control methodologies, and analytical practices for large-scale EPC projects. This position requires proficiency in Risk and Change management processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilizes comprehensive knowledge of Project Controls principles.
  • Estimates quantities based on Approved for Construction drawings, adjusting for actual site conditions.
  • Collaborates with the site construction team and Engineering department to verify and certify completed work for subcontractor payments.
  • Reviews project scope, Preamble, Drawings, and Specifications.
  • Ensures quantity take-offs comply with company standards and project specifications, with scheduled Scope available for Monitoring.
  • Monitors field design alterations in response to site conditions and processes Subcontractor payment requests.
  • Tracks material quantities received, issued, and utilized by subcontractors to facilitate weekly progress assessments.
  • Evaluates Site Instructions against planned costs, identifying discrepancies and finalizing site instructions for approval.
  • Assesses Change Work Orders and Variations in accordance with the Contract Agreement.
  • Monitors subcontractor payment flows against budgeted quantities and actual progress.
  • Reviews Progress Measurement submissions from Subcontractor QS and generates reports for the Company’s main system.
  • Oversees projects concerning budgeted costs, demand forecasts, and timelines to ensure timely project execution.
  • Analyzes feasibility reports to identify project bottlenecks for timely completion.
  • Conducts joint site surveys to verify actual work progress against finalized weekly percentages.
  • Performs rate analysis, certification, and payment approvals.
  • Prepares deviation and variation statements for final contractor payments.
  • Implements processes with regular reviews and recommendations for business efficiency improvements.
  • Possesses in-depth knowledge of advanced construction work package principles and management.
  • Engages in the Risk management process.
  • Prepares monthly reports and supports overall project status reporting.
  • Analyzes data sets to provide additional insights.
  • Prepares cost forecasts and analyses for each project discipline based on actual data and trends.
  • Maintains balance among project control systems (Cost/Schedule/Progress) from the initial estimate through project completion.
  • Supports Project Risk management and change management processes.
  • Participates in data collection for Closeout Reports.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Advanced Technical Education (B. Sc/M.Sc. or equivalent) or relevant Site Experience.
  • 6-10 years of pertinent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in the EPC or Construction sector.
  • Contributes to a safe working environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Works autonomously while being a collaborative team member to achieve project objectives.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
  • Exhibits strong coordination skills to gather data from various project stakeholders and effectively prioritizes tasks to meet deadlines.
