Position Overview:

We invite interested candidates to thoroughly review the complete job description before proceeding with their application.

This role is responsible for developing and/or overseeing the creation of comprehensive estimates for large and intricate projects as dictated by client specifications. The position entails providing detailed conceptual and total bid pricing.

Required Qualifications:
  • Preferred: Associate's degree
  • Background in construction with proficiency in interpreting blueprints and specifications is essential
  • Proficient computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, and ideally On-Screen Takeoff or similar digital material takeoff software)
  • Experience with social media platforms (i.e., Salesforce or Facebook)
  • Strong multitasking abilities
  • Meticulous attention to detail and capability to manage strict deadlines
  • Professional appearance is required
  • Must maintain a courteous and positive demeanor towards both internal and external stakeholders (in-person and via phone)
  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods (up to 10 hours daily)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze construction documents to gain insight into the necessary scope of work
  • Communicate with general contractors, architects, suppliers, and team members through various channels as needed
  • Employ computer takeoff software to execute onscreen takeoffs of the required scope of work.
  • Input takeoff data into the computer system
  • Source materials and suppliers for custom/non-stock items.
  • Gather vendor pricing for outsourced materials and/or labor.
  • Request bids from subcontractors.
  • Utilize job folders to compile supporting documentation (vendor pricing, correspondence)
  • Conduct cost analysis by recalculating material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead expenses incurred during installation
  • In instances where predetermined standards are unavailable, create estimates
  • Notify immediate supervisor of any discrepancies or omissions in quoted items or the computer database
  • Collaborate with Senior Estimators/Peers/Sales to review takeoffs, plans, scope of work, and final estimates
  • Assist Senior Estimators/Peers/Sales in preparing the final estimate
  • Complete overall project estimates using the in-house ERP system
  • Engage with the project team to transfer all relevant knowledge once projects are awarded
  • Participate in networking events and light travel as requested by your supervisor
