Position Title: B2B Sales Manager - Kolkata Region

Department: Commercial

Reporting To: Sales Manager

Role Overview:

The purpose of this role is to oversee the B2B operations related to Bakery and Ingredients within the Kolkata area. The incumbent will focus on enhancing distribution networks and improving infrastructure to foster business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the existing distribution channels in Kolkata.
  2. Expand the distribution network by recruiting sales personnel to target unserviced bakeries.
  3. Facilitate bakery conversions through organized product trials.
  4. Broaden the product range offered to bakers utilizing our Bakery Fats, Ingredients, and Margarines.
  5. Establish cold chain logistics for our Whip Topping products.
  6. Develop the market to achieve consistent growth over the next 3-5 years.

Impact and Scope:

This position will handle an average sales volume of 800 MT.

Supervision of third-party personnel will be required.

Performance Metrics:

  1. Implement automation through Sales Force Automation (SFA) and Distribution Management System (DMS).
  2. Meet annual volume targets on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  3. Achieve year-over-year growth in the Bakery and Ingredients sector.
  4. Maintain zero expired stock levels.
  5. Monitor SFA usage, customer visit frequency, outlet additions, and focus SKU volumes.

Opportunities and Challenges:

Manage the complexities of fluctuating pricing and control secondary sales in line with current rates.

Effectively deploy the technical team and maximize their contributions.

Management and Leadership:

Maintain comprehensive oversight of the secondary market and customer interactions while staying informed about competitive activities.

Possess strong market knowledge and team management capabilities.

Basic understanding of baking applications, particularly regarding fats and ingredients.

Exhibit teamwork, product knowledge, territory expertise, and effective communication skills.

Demonstrate strong analytical skills to interpret data and guide the team towards achieving business objectives.

Key Relationships:

Engage with distributors, super stockists, C&FA, and logistics teams.

Foster good market relations and effectively communicate with support functions, senior management, and the marketing team.

Ensure timely reporting.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

Familiarity with fats and ingredients is essential.

Basic technical knowledge is required.

Conduct trials with bakers in collaboration with the technical team.

Education and Experience:

A graduate with technical application knowledge to facilitate customer conversions.

A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the fats and ingredients sector is required.

Proficiency in the local language and Hindi, along with strong English communication skills, is essential.

Computer literacy is mandatory.
