Position Title: Regional Sales Representative
Location: India
Role Overview:
This position is crucial for driving growth in a newly established market segment. The focus will be on enhancing distribution capabilities and building robust infrastructure to support business expansion.
Main Responsibilities:
- Oversee the existing network of distributors in the designated area.
- Broaden the distribution network with an emphasis on the specified region.
- Foster market development to achieve sustainable growth over the next several years.
Impact and Scope:
The role will significantly influence the sales of high-margin product categories. A strong consumer focus and superior market service will be essential for successful market activation.
Performance Metrics:
- Meet annual volume and market share targets on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Ensure complete geo-tagging of all new outlets.
- Implement distribution management systems at all distributors with significant monthly sales.
- Achieve timely collection of payments with minimal aged accounts receivable.
- Prevent stock expirations in assigned warehouses.
Opportunities and Responsibilities:
Automation at the field level will be a primary focus. Training of sales team members and ensuring effective use of sales force automation tools will be critical for execution. Additionally, expanding the number of purchasing outlets and analyzing buying patterns will be essential for strategizing around underperforming products.
Team Collaboration:
Support the sales team by sharing insights and expertise to empower team members and achieve desired outcomes. A collaborative spirit, along with strong product and market knowledge, is essential.
Key Relationships:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and retail partners while keeping them informed about market trends to foster long-term partnerships.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Understanding of the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector with the ability to design and execute go-to-market strategies.
- Knowledge of the oil industry and distribution frameworks.
- Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to guide teams toward achieving business objectives.
- Educational background: Bachelor's degree, preferably in Science or Commerce; a business management degree is a plus.
- Extensive sales experience in FMCG or edible oil sectors with reputable companies.
- Proficiency in local languages, Hindi, and strong English communication skills.
- Computer literacy is essential.
