POSITION SUMMARY

The Regional Sales Manager is accountable for overseeing and nurturing a retail execution team engaged in promotional activities across a designated area. This role involves delegating coaching responsibilities, implementing training initiatives, and serving as a subject matter expert for various retail execution teams. The promotional activities typically occur at the retail or wholesale level in convenience stores, supermarkets, department stores, discount clubs, and hypermarkets, focusing on a diverse array of Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPGs).

KEY FUNCTIONS

The Regional Sales Manager will guide a team that highlights the advantages, value, and practicality of specific products, making them appealing to potential customers and influencing sales at the retail level. Depending on the Client Team, this position may involve promoting sales in a Business to Business (B2B) or Business to Consumer (B2C) context.

A successful candidate will exhibit the ability to effectively utilize positive persuasion techniques to generate interest and engage customers through product demonstrations and promotional incentives. This is a non-commissionable position.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Duties:

  • Assign managerial oversight for special projects/events and ensure exceptional execution at the retail/wholesale level while continuously improving sales coverage and productivity.
  • Monitor compliance with company policies by the Retail/Wholesale Organization.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and key stakeholders on significant initiatives (new product launches, contests, etc.) and cultivate relationships with retail/wholesale managers and staff.
  • Act as the primary contact for special projects in the field; create and manage special initiatives. Serve as an expert resource for Customer and Business Managers regarding the effectiveness of both full-time and part-time sales personnel.
  • Conduct ongoing recruitment for new Associates.
  • Maintain incident documentation for all Associates in accordance with company policies.
  • Ensure coverage and execution of events within the assigned territory.
  • Work collaboratively with managers and clients to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Utilize and comprehend Acosta reports and reporting systems effectively.
  • Leverage technology to communicate priorities and coverage analyses, maintaining an efficient feedback and measurement system.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent work experience comparable to a four-year degree from an accredited institution.
  • 5-7 years of experience in customer service, sales, communication, teaching, and retailing. In-Store Brand Ambassadors may require cooking and food handling experience.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of managerial experience; prior training experience is advantageous.
  • Direct customer contact experience is highly desirable.
  • Able to lift up to 60 pounds.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive for extended periods.
  • Willingness to travel overnight.
  • Availability for weekend work (Demos, Food Shows, or Special Client Programs) and the ability to work nights and holidays.
  • Ability to work in extremely cold environments (i.e., refrigerated and freezer sections of retail stores).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Physical capability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, reach, pull, grasp, and stand daily. Must possess good vision and dexterous use of both hands, capable of operating hand trucks, pallet jacks, hammers, screwdrivers, drills, and case cutters.
  • Proficient in standing and/or walking for extended periods.
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and other workplace communication tools.
