General Position Summary

To be eligible for this role, candidates must reside in one of the following states: Wyoming, Utah, or Montana.

As an Area Operations Manager at Alff Construction, you will oversee the budget and operations of the designated region.

The Area Operations Manager will supervise Territory Vendor Managers, Field Operations Managers, and local office personnel within the assigned area. You will be responsible for managing regional expenditures and budgets in collaboration with the Area Director of Operations and corporate leadership.

Additionally, the Area Operations Manager will maintain and cultivate customer relationships within your region.

Regular site visits to client locations will be necessary to assess the quality of work performed and to address any client concerns regarding work orders.

The ideal candidate should possess knowledge in property maintenance, be familiar with industry trends, demonstrate strong leadership qualities, be adaptable, solution-oriented, and an effective communicator.

The Area Operations Manager will report directly to the Area Director of Operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage the regional budget.
  • Coordinate regularly with peer-level client representatives.
  • Communicate company-wide policies and develop local procedures based on company expectations and regional needs.
  • Resolve internal and client conflicts while adhering to company policies and leadership directives.
  • Analyze regional trends in budget and performance, implementing process improvements focused on profitability and efficiency.
  • Manage staffing in coordination with the corporate office to maintain an efficient workforce while complying with relevant employment regulations and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with reporting processes and verify the accuracy of data.
  • Coordinate staff training in accordance with company policies and standards.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and set goals for direct reports and their teams.
  • Oversee the region's fleet of vehicles and equipment.
  • Manage the company's regional facilities, including any administrative staff.
  • Foster existing and develop new customer relationships to enhance sales and client satisfaction.
  • Provide oversight of sales, scheduling, completion, and invoicing of regional projects.
  • Offer insights to the executive team on operations or procedures aimed at increasing efficiency, safety, and profitability.
  • Identify and pursue new client opportunities within the region.
  • Review, approve, and finalize high-value proposals and quotes for both self-performed and subcontracted work.
  • Overnight travel may be required.
  • Adhere to safety standards established by Executive Leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 7 years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 7 years' experience in a related field such as Project Management.

Computer Skills:

Ability to quickly learn new database programs, proficient in communication platforms (such as GPS Mobile Applications), and moderate proficiency in Microsoft Suite programs, Salesforce, Samsara, and ADP.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in a management role within the construction or maintenance industry.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Construction Management, Construction Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
