Position Summary:

The Vice President of Strategic Partnerships will play a pivotal role in propelling growth within Mazzetti's Healthcare and Life Sciences sectors on the West Coast. This position demands a comprehensive understanding of the regional market dynamics, nurturing relationships with essential stakeholders, and ensuring alignment with the overarching national business development strategy. The successful candidate will possess a demonstrated history of achieving sales objectives, performing market analysis, and positioning the organization for successful project engagements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Development: Formulate and implement a regional business development strategy that aligns with Mazzetti's national objectives to stimulate growth in critical market sectors.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and sustain relationships with key stakeholders to identify and leverage business opportunities.
  • Collaborative Efforts: Collaborate with technical business development directors and other regional leaders for integrated client relationship management and pursuit strategies.
  • Market Intelligence: Conduct continuous market analysis to remain updated on industry trends, client requirements, and competitor movements.
  • Decision Leadership: Facilitate Go/No-Go discussions for significant pursuits, evaluating potential impacts on existing proposals and future opportunities.
  • Opportunity Planning: Create detailed capture plans to position the organization favorably for long-term projects.
  • Lead Management: Identify and monitor leads, transforming them into actionable business opportunities.
  • Proposal Strategy: Offer insights on proposal submissions, utilizing knowledge of client priorities and market conditions.
  • Client Interaction: Coordinate with clients for interview preparation and requirements, providing necessary guidance and support to Mazzetti personnel.
  • Networking Initiatives: Build and maintain connections with industry partners for potential collaboration opportunities.
  • CRM Oversight: Document relevant information in the CRM system to guide future strategies and initiatives.
  • Professional Development: Promote business development learning opportunities for staff to enhance their skills and competencies.
  • Event Management: Identify and engage in key industry events, coordinating staff involvement, presentations, and client interactions.
  • Client Engagement Activities: Organize and facilitate client events to strengthen relationships and stimulate business opportunities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. An MBA is preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in Business Development or Sales within the Healthcare or Life Sciences sector.
  • A proven history of meeting or surpassing sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • A thorough understanding of corporate structures within targeted regions and decision-making frameworks.
  • Willingness to travel up to 35%, including local, regional, and occasional national engagements.
Additional Qualifications:
  • Outstanding communication and presentation capabilities.
  • Strong negotiation and persuasion skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM software, preferably Deltek Vantagepoint, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated capacity to think strategically and execute effectively.
Compensation and Benefits:
The Vice President of Strategic Partnerships role in California typically offers a salary range of $150,000 - $200,000, with compensation varying based on experience and qualifications.
