Jacobs Technology oversees the comprehensive management and execution of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations. These responsibilities support various programs, including the International Space Station and the Space Launch System.

  • Engage in engineering tasks supporting the Communications and Tracking engineering team.
  • Apply engineering expertise to conduct electrical engineering projects that fulfill stakeholder expectations and meet program requirements.
  • Assist in the development of conceptual design packages, technical evaluations, cost assessments, and operational documentation.
  • Guide and mentor technicians to ensure project completion.
  • Enhance professional knowledge by participating in workshops, reviewing industry publications, and engaging with professional networks.
  • Contribute to team objectives by achieving related outcomes as necessary.
  • Mentor junior engineers to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

BS degree in Electrical, Computer, Aerospace Engineering, or Physics from an ABET-accredited institution.

This position may be filled at various levels based on the candidate's experience and organizational needs.

  • Additional relevant education may substitute for some experience.
  • Experience with RF systems is advantageous.
  • Networking experience is a plus.
  • Relevant experience required for Associate & Senior positions:
    • Entry Level: Some exposure to RF systems is preferred.
    • Associate Level: 3+ years of RF or networking experience is required.
    • Senior Level: 8+ years of RF and networking experience is required.
  • Ability to develop technical processes, testing, and repair procedures is essential.
  • Familiarity with software command and control applications is desired.
  • Strong writing, communication, presentation, and customer interaction skills are required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Must coordinate work across multiple project disciplines.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if necessary.
  • Associate and Senior Level candidates may be required to provide guidance to junior engineers.
  • Capability to perform root cause failure analysis at the component level.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to climb stairs to access equipment for troubleshooting.
  • Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Position may involve extended periods of sitting or standing.
  • Physical activities include sitting, walking, standing, and extensive stair use.
  • Position is located in a testing facility; must be able to evacuate quickly in emergencies.

Work Environment:

  • Work may be required both indoors and outdoors throughout the facility.
  • Daily travel to different areas on site may be necessary.
  • Walking on uneven terrain is required to access various locations.
  • Climbing ladders and platforms may be necessary.
  • All work must adhere to safety standards.

Attendance:

  • Regular full-time hours are expected between Monday and Friday.
  • Occasional overtime, including weekend work, may be required.
  • Dependability and punctuality are essential.
  • Shift work may be necessary.

Other Essential Functions:

  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly in writing and verbally.
  • Travel may be required to fulfill position responsibilities.
  • Professional grooming and attire must be maintained.
  • Compliance with drug-free workplace policies is mandatory.
  • Government security clearance may be required in the future.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere through effective communication and behavior.
