Jacobs Technology oversees the management and execution of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations. Our efforts support various programs including the International Space Station and the Space Launch System.

  • Engage in engineering tasks for the Communications and Tracking engineering team.
  • Apply engineering expertise to execute flight and ground system electrical engineering projects that align with stakeholder expectations and program requirements.
  • Assist in creating conceptual design packages, technical evaluations, cost analyses, and operational documentation, while also supporting the startup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Lead projects by mentoring and guiding technicians.
  • Enhance professional and technical knowledge through workshops, literature, networking, and participation in professional organizations.
  • Contribute to team success by achieving related objectives as needed.
  • Mentor junior engineers to enhance their skills and understanding.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

BS degree in Electrical, Computer, Aerospace Engineering, or Physics from an ABET accredited institution.

This position is available at multiple levels. Depending on experience and business requirements, candidates may be considered for various levels of this role.

  • Additional relevant education may substitute for some experience.
  • Experience with RF systems is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of computer networking is a plus.
  • Relevant experience required for Associate & Senior positions:
    • Entry Level: Some exposure to RF systems is highly desired.
    • Associate Level: 3+ years of RF or networking experience is required.
    • Senior Level: 8+ years of RF and networking experience is required.
  • Ability to create technical processes, test, and repair procedures is essential.
  • Familiarity with software command and control applications is preferred.
  • Strong writing, communication, presentation, and customer interaction skills are necessary.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Must coordinate work across multiple project disciplines.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize several projects without compromising deadlines or accuracy.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance if required.
  • Associate and Senior Level candidates may need to provide guidance to less experienced engineers.
  • Capability to perform root cause failure analysis to the component level.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements:

  • Must be able to climb stairs to access equipment for troubleshooting.
  • Hearing protection, eye protection, and other personal protective equipment are required.
  • Position may involve extended periods of sitting or standing.
  • Physical demands include sitting, walking, standing, and climbing stairs.
  • Work is conducted in a hazardous testing facility; quick evacuation may be necessary in emergencies.

Attendance Expectations:

  • Regular full-time hours between Monday and Friday.
  • Occasional overtime, including weekend work, may be required based on tasks.
  • Dependability and punctuality are essential.
  • Shift work may be necessary.

Other Essential Functions:

  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly in both written and verbal formats.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for position requirements.
  • Professional grooming and attire must be appropriate for the role and not pose safety risks.
  • Compliance with all drug-free workplace policies is mandatory.
  • Future government security clearance may be necessary.
  • Maintain a positive work environment through effective communication and collaboration with colleagues and clients.
