Jacobs Technology oversees the comprehensive management and execution of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations. These initiatives support various programs, including the International Space Station and the Space Launch System.

  • Engage in engineering activities to support the Communications and Tracking engineering division.
  • Apply engineering expertise to execute electrical engineering projects that align with stakeholder needs and NASA program specifications.
  • Assist in the creation of conceptual design documents, technical evaluations, cost projections, and operational documentation, while also supporting the startup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Lead projects by mentoring and guiding technicians.
  • Enhance professional and technical knowledge through workshops, literature review, networking, and participation in professional organizations.
  • Contribute to team success by achieving related objectives as necessary.
  • Guide junior engineers in developing their skills and knowledge.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, Aerospace Engineering, or Physics from an ABET-accredited institution is required.

This position is available at various levels. Depending on the candidate's qualifications and organizational needs, we may consider applicants at any advertised level.

  • Additional relevant education may substitute for some experience.
  • Experience with RF systems is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of computer networking is a plus.
  • Relevant experience required for Associate & Senior positions:
    • Entry Level: Some exposure to RF systems is preferred.
    • Associate Level: Minimum of 3 years of RF or networking experience is required.
    • Senior Level: At least 8 years of RF and networking experience is necessary.
  • Ability to develop technical processes, testing, and repair procedures is essential.
  • Familiarity with software command and control applications is desirable.
  • Strong writing, communication, presentation, and customer interaction skills are required.
  • Capability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Must coordinate tasks across multiple project disciplines.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize various projects while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach, able to work independently or with minimal supervision.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if required.
  • Associate and Senior Level candidates may need to mentor less experienced engineers.
  • Ability to conduct root cause failure analysis to the component level.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to navigate stairs to access equipment for troubleshooting.
  • Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Position may involve extended periods of sitting or standing.
  • Physical activities include sitting, walking, standing, and climbing stairs.
  • Work is conducted in a testing facility; must be able to evacuate promptly in emergencies.

Work Environment:

  • Work may be performed both indoors and outdoors across the testing complex.
  • Daily travel to various locations on-site may be necessary.
  • Walking on uneven surfaces, including paved areas and gravel, is required.
  • Climbing ladders and platforms may be necessary.
  • All tasks must adhere to safety standards set by Jacobs and NASA.

Attendance:

  • Regular full-time hours are expected, Monday through Friday.
  • Occasional overtime, including weekends, may be required based on project needs.
  • Dependability and punctuality are essential.
  • Shift work may be necessary.

  • Effective communication of ideas in both written and verbal formats is crucial.
  • Travel may be required to fulfill position responsibilities, including potential airline travel.
  • Professional grooming and attire must align with safety standards.
  • Compliance with drug-free workplace policies is mandatory.
  • Future government security clearance may be necessary.
