We are currently seeking an Electrical Control Systems Specialist. This role involves overseeing electrical and control engineering for extensive projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing control systems from the ground up, including hardware, software, and networking.
  • Creating electrical panel designs and conducting power calculations.
  • Performing risk assessments and selecting appropriate components.
  • Programming control systems and managing their installation and commissioning.

Primary Duties:

  • Developing system designs from initial concepts based on project specifications.
  • Utilizing drafting software, preferably AutoCAD, for design purposes.
  • Collaborating with other project disciplines to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Optimizing panel locations to reduce voltage drop and enhance system efficiency.
  • Overseeing vendor responsibilities to ensure compliance with safety and functionality standards.
  • Generating project technical risk assessments and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Designing safety-critical components within control systems and establishing redundant safety measures.
  • Creating comprehensive documentation, including operation descriptions, detailed design descriptions, panel assembly drawings, and system test plans.

Job Requirements:

Candidates must possess strong organizational skills, technical proficiency, and effective communication abilities. Experience in a multidisciplinary environment, collaborating with engineers, designers, and drafters is essential.

Education: A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering is required. Degrees in related fields may be considered if relevant work experience is demonstrated.

Experience: A minimum of 5 years in a similar role, with preferred expertise in ASTM standards, the attractions industry, and safety engineering.

Key Competencies:

  • Understanding of contract documents and specifications.
  • Ability to gather field data and accurately document findings.
  • Proficiency in system design functions.
  • Strong planning and problem-solving skills.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office applications is required.

Travel:

Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time is necessary.

Physical Demands:

The role requires visual acuity, color perception, hearing, clear speech, manual dexterity, and the ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and climbing.

Working Conditions:

Employees are expected to work in a standard office environment as well as on-site in diverse industrial and construction settings.
