The COMET initiative encompasses comprehensive management and execution of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations. These efforts support various programs including the International Space Station and the Space Launch System.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

· Conducting electrical design engineering to develop and enhance hardware, ensuring automation across the Kennedy Ground Control System.

· Exhibiting a strong understanding of industry engineering standards, capable of working independently as well as collaboratively.

· Leading engineering projects and delegating tasks effectively within the team.

· Preparing and delivering technical presentations to stakeholders.

· Performing additional related duties as required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field from an accredited institution, along with a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience.

We reserve the right to consider candidates at various levels based on experience and organizational needs.

Job Requirements

· At least 10 years of experience in electrical engineering design, particularly with PLC-based distributed control systems, including HMI and instrumentation.

· Proficiency in product lifecycle systems and the ability to oversee technical evaluations and engineering reviews.

· Experience in producing electrical schematics and documentation using AutoCAD.

· Familiarity with control panel design and system-level component integration.

· Knowledge of industrial networking protocols and devices.

· Understanding of industry design standards such as UL508A and NFPA 70.

· Experience with safety regulations for electrical control panels in hazardous environments.

· Familiarity with PDM or PLM systems is advantageous.

· Strong communication skills for technical presentations and team collaboration.

· Ability to mentor and develop team members.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

· May require climbing to access equipment for troubleshooting.

· Compliance with safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment.

· Position may involve prolonged periods of sitting or standing.

· Must be able to navigate various terrains and access remote locations.
