The COMET contract encompasses comprehensive management and execution of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations. These responsibilities support various programs, including the International Space Station and the Space Launch System.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

· Conducting electrical design engineering to develop and enhance hardware, providing automation across the Kennedy Ground Control System, which oversees hardware performance for health monitoring and launch operations.

· Exhibiting a strong working knowledge of relevant industry engineering standards, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.

· Leading engineering initiatives and delegating tasks within the team.

· Supporting technical presentations for management and stakeholders.

· Performing additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in engineering or a technical equivalent from an accredited institution, along with a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience.

We reserve the right to consider candidates at any level based on experience and business requirements.

Job Requirements

· At least 10 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering design, particularly with PLC-based distributed control systems, including HMI and instrumentation.

· Proficiency in product lifecycle systems, with the capability to conduct technical evaluations and engineering reviews.

· Ability to produce electrical drawings using AutoCAD, including schematics, BOMs, and interface control documents.

· Familiarity with control panel design and system-level component integration.

· Experience with industrial networks, including Ethernet/IP and ControlNet.

· Knowledge of industry design standards such as UL508A and NFPA 70.

· Understanding of design and safety regulations for electrical control panels in hazardous locations.

· Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) or Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems is advantageous.

· Capability to create and deliver technical presentations to management and clients.

· Ability to lead design initiatives and facilitate effective communication within teams.

· Mentoring and developing team members.

Physical Requirements

· May require climbing stairs to access equipment for troubleshooting.

· Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment.

· Position may involve extended periods of sitting or standing.

· Must be able to evacuate buildings quickly in emergencies.

Work Environment

· May require working indoors and outdoors across the test complex.

· Daily travel to various site areas may be necessary.

· Walking on uneven terrain may be required.

· All work must adhere to safety standards.

· Full-time work hours with potential for occasional overtime.

· Dependability and punctuality are essential.

Other Essential Functions

· Must communicate ideas effectively in both written and verbal formats.

· Travel may be required to fulfill position responsibilities.
