Hypower is actively looking for a Technical Support Specialist to enhance our team.

This role is an hourly position with compensation ranging from $16 to $22 per hour, depending on experience.

The Technical Support Specialist will assist both local and remote users by installing and maintaining hardware, software, and connectivity for various devices including phones, tablets, desktops, laptops, printers, and other related peripherals. This position operates with minimal supervision and requires the maintenance of detailed real-time logs of tasks performed. The specialist will be expected to understand company policies and procedures and communicate them effectively to end-users as necessary. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving issues within established guidelines, or escalating to other technical resources when appropriate. Professionalism and empathy are essential when interacting with end-users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of devices and supplies in real-time and initiate restocking requests as necessary.
  • Monitor and update tasks and projects using helpdesk ticketing software.
  • Conduct basic diagnostics and repairs on equipment, coordinating with specialized external vendors for more complex issues.
  • Visit job sites to address issues either independently or as part of a team.
  • Utilize judgment and creativity in selecting and applying procedures correctly, determining when to escalate problems to a supervisor or higher level of support.
  • Set up and configure user accounts, devices, and software according to designated access levels.
  • Manage the setup, inventory, and decommissioning of mobile devices (iPads, iPhones, Surfaces).
  • Participate in evaluative testing for proposed hardware and software solutions.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues within established guidelines, or escalate to other technical resources as necessary.
  • Maintain systems, databases, and web pages.
  • Design and generate basic reports.
  • Backup and/or transfer computer files across various platforms.
  • Provide basic troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance for computer equipment.
  • Assist with antivirus scans and data recovery efforts.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Solutions, AWS Cloud Solutions are advantageous.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 Cloud services / Office 365, Azure AD, Microsoft Teams, Apple Business Manager, and ITSM Jira Service Management is preferred.
  • Candidates should possess a minimum of two years of IT helpdesk experience.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills coupled with strong communication abilities are essential.
