Position Summary:

The Technical Sales Support Specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing customer satisfaction and driving sales growth. Reporting directly to the Director of Sales, this position is tasked with developing and executing structured technical support initiatives, training programs, and warranty management. The specialist serves as a vital resource for both customers and internal teams, offering expertise on equipment best practices and technical guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and implement guidelines and tools to address the increasing demand for technical sales support. Provide troubleshooting assistance to customers and staff while maintaining a non-intrusive approach during on-site visits.
  2. Develop a comprehensive training program focused on NATE certification and technical knowledge to empower customers and employees in understanding HVAC fundamentals and installation protocols.
  3. Collaborate with Branch and Account Managers to facilitate sales opportunities with major equipment dealers, ensuring customers receive essential technical training as part of our service offerings.
  4. Enhance customer retention by delivering tailored technical training sessions that support sales initiatives.
  5. Establish a streamlined warranty process and unit exchange framework to minimize warranty claims and enhance customer service quality.
  6. Conduct training sessions and track attendance for both customer and employee participants, ensuring effective knowledge transfer.
  7. Support designated locations in achieving recognition as leading NATE testing centers across the nation.
  8. Assist the Purchasing and Marketing teams in optimizing product offerings and identifying opportunities for increased sales through strategic product management.
  9. Stay informed about industry trends and technological advancements that impact our target markets and product lines through various internal and external resources.
  10. Build and maintain strong relationships with vendor partners and key customers to foster collaboration and mutual growth.
  11. Participate in strategic meetings, providing valuable insights and data related to customer needs and product opportunities.
  12. Ensure a consistent and professional company image is upheld during all training and sales presentations.
  13. Perform additional duties as required to support the overall objectives of the organization.

Internal Collaboration:

Engage with the store support team to assess training needs and stay updated on product and industry trends. Regularly meet with Sales and Branch Management, as well as members from marketing, purchasing, IT, and human resources to align on both short-term and long-term goals.

External Engagement:

Communicate and collaborate with Market/Branch Management, customers, vendors, and industry consultants to ensure alignment and support for our technical initiatives.

Qualifications:

  1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC field service.
  2. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  3. Proficient in problem-solving, data collection, and analytical thinking.
  4. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in diverse conditions.
  5. Strong decision-making skills, combining analytical and creative approaches.
  6. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  7. Fluency in English and Spanish, both written and verbal, is required.

Work Environment:

This role typically operates in an office setting, with frequent visits to branch facilities and customer locations. The position requires physical stamina for standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods, as well as the ability to navigate stairs and ladders. Visual acuity is necessary for report generation and computer work, while auditory skills are essential for managing high volumes of communication.
