Position: Project Manager

Location: Maryland, DC & Northern Virginia

Reports To: Vice President of Project Management

Employment Status: Full-time, Exempt

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are essential to the role. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

  • Lead and manage daily operations of assigned projects in alignment with the company's mission and values.
  • Oversee all project phases from initiation to completion independently.
  • Direct and manage risk assessment and mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Drive project outcomes to meet or exceed financial targets, including sales and profitability metrics.
  • Deliver comprehensive reports to the VP of Project Management and executive leadership regarding project status and financial health.
  • Facilitate monthly Work in Progress (WIP) meetings and ensure completion of prior month’s action items.
  • Prepare estimates for project completion, review billing and collections, and validate costs incurred to date before WIP meetings.
  • Collaborate with various internal departments to ensure project deliverables are met on schedule.
  • Act as the primary contact for clients and partners, ensuring strong relationships are maintained.
  • Work closely with Project Estimators to define project scope, budget, and transition necessary documentation.
  • Monitor and manage project budgets, including materials, subcontractors, and labor costs.
  • Maintain regular communication with project personnel and spend time on job sites as necessary.
  • Address and resolve employee concerns and escalate issues to management when needed.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by conducting regular safety audits and training sessions.
  • Attend and lead internal and external meetings as required.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

SUPERVISORY ROLE

  • Manage and direct project staff, collaborating with the VP of Operations on personnel matters.
  • Communicate effectively with senior management and support teams.

QUALIFICATIONS

To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or Construction Management preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of experience managing large-scale commercial construction projects.
  • Relevant certifications such as RCDD, PMP, RTPM, or BICSI Technician are advantageous.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams and O365 email platforms.
  • Familiarity with project management accounting software.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific software applications.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position requires regular sitting, walking, and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include close and distance vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Employees may encounter moderate to loud noise levels and varying environmental conditions while on job sites.
