Overview:


As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for strategizing, coordinating, inspecting, supervising, and evaluating all assigned personnel engaged in a variety of custodial tasks to ensure adherence to established cleaning and safety standards.

Your role will involve ensuring the meticulous care and cleaning of client facilities while providing both administrative and technical oversight to custodial staff. (This position description aims to accurately reflect the primary job elements but is not exhaustive of all duties, knowledge, or abilities associated with this classification.)

Key Responsibilities:
1. Review and assess the quantity and quality of custodial work performed by assigned staff; conduct regular inspections.

2. Develop and implement cleaning standards, evaluating them annually.

3. Ensure compliance with in-house training programs for custodial employees, in collaboration with the Training Director.

4. Guarantee timely delivery of necessary equipment and materials to all facilities.


5. Identify and implement innovative solutions to challenges arising from fluctuating funding levels, staffing, emerging technologies, and evolving customer requirements.

6. Recognize potential issues or opportunities for service enhancement to ensure the excellence of custodial services.

7. Oversee the preparation of required reports and maintain appropriate records.

8. Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols.

9. Coordinate, supervise, and evaluate the performance and responsibilities of custodians and other assigned personnel.

10. Develop recommendations for new and modified programs, policies, regulations, and procedures for approval.

11. Consult with clients regarding custodial services.

12. Provide work direction to custodial staff and other personnel as assigned.

13. Evaluate employee performance and initiate corrective actions when necessary.


14. Collaborate with custodians and other staff to prepare rooms and meeting areas for special events, which may involve moving and setting up chairs, tables, and related equipment.

15. Participate in maintaining campus and building security, monitoring worksites, and reporting potential security concerns.

16. Analyze custodial needs and recommend priorities for the custodial program while participating in the ordering of supplies.


17. Train and instruct assigned custodial personnel in cleaning methods, the use of materials, light maintenance tasks, and the safe operation of custodial equipment.


18. Supervise, monitor, and participate in custodial work, including cleaning various areas such as rooms, restrooms, hallways, stairways, and more.

19. Operate yard sweepers, vacuums, scrubbing machines, carpet shampooers, and related groundskeeping tools and equipment.

20. Attend and participate in required client and company meetings and training sessions.

Additional Responsibilities:


Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge of:

Working Conditions:

Minimum Qualifications Training, Education, and Experience:
Any combination of education, training, military and/or experience equivalent to: an associate of arts degree and three years of increasingly responsible experience in custodial work, including multi-level supervisory experience and overseeing deferred maintenance projects.

Licenses and Other Requirements:
Valid Driver's License

Consistent mental alertness; standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods; lifting and carrying light to moderate weight objects, occasionally more than 75 pounds; pushing/pulling exerting force to approximately 30 pounds, occasionally 75+ pounds; climbing up and down ladders and stairs; bending and twisting at waist and neck; crouching and crawling; kneeling and bending at the waist, reaching overhead, above the shoulders, and horizontally; dexterity of both arms and hands, and fingers while operating equipment and cleaning; seeing to read, write, and perform duties; hearing and speaking to exchange information in person or on the telephone.
