Position: Project Manager
Location: Maryland, DC & Northern Virginia
Reporting Structure: Reports directly to the VP and indirectly to the President and CEO
Employment Status: Full-time, Exempt
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are essential to the role. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.
- Provide leadership and management on a daily basis for the execution of the assigned project, aligning with the company’s mission and core values.
- Oversee all facets of the assigned project until its completion.
- Direct and manage risk mitigation strategies related to project performance.
- Drive the project towards achieving and exceeding sales, profitability, cash flow, and collections in line with business objectives.
- Deliver timely, accurate, and comprehensive reports to the VP of Project Management and Executive Officers regarding the project's operational and financial status.
- Participate in monthly Work in Progress (WIP) meetings and ensure completion of all assigned WIP Action Items from the previous month.
- Prepare estimates for completion, review billings, collections, and change orders prior to scheduled WIP meetings.
- Collaborate with all internal departments, including Project Management, Operations, Engineering, Scheduling, and Safety, to meet project deliverables on time.
- Act as a primary contact for clients and partners associated with the assigned project.
- Work with Project Estimators to ensure a comprehensive scope of work is defined and understood.
- Monitor budgets, materials, subcontractor costs, rental equipment, and labor expenses.
- Maintain ongoing communication and planning with the Project Management team and field personnel by visiting job sites as necessary.
- Address and resolve employee concerns and escalate issues to management when required.
- Ensure a safe work environment for job site employees through regular safety audits.
- Conduct training sessions and Toolbox Talks on-site as needed.
- Attend and lead internal and external meetings as required.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety programs.
SUPERVISORY ROLE
- Lead and manage project personnel, coordinating closely with the VP of Operations on assignments and training needs.
- Communicate effectively with the VP of Project Management and other support management.
QUALIFICATIONS
To excel in this role, candidates must successfully fulfill the essential duties outlined above. The following qualifications are necessary:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or Construction Management is preferred.
- A minimum of five years of experience managing large commercial construction projects, including supervision of field personnel.
- Relevant certifications such as RCDD, PMP, RTPM, or BICSI Certified Technician are advantageous.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
- Experience with Microsoft Teams and O365 email.
- Familiarity with financial management software related to project accounting.
- Knowledge of software applications used in the Commercial IT contracting industry.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This role requires regular sitting, walking, and the ability to lift up to twenty-five pounds. Vision capabilities include close, distance, and peripheral vision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Employees may encounter moderate to loud noise levels and exposure to outdoor conditions while performing job duties.
