Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Clinical Support Coordinator will play a vital role in facilitating daily healthcare operations and managing patient care activities. This role encompasses a variety of clinical and administrative responsibilities, aimed at assisting the healthcare team in delivering exceptional patient services. The ideal candidate will ensure that the clinical environment is organized, well-stocked, and responsive to the needs of patients and staff alike.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Escort patients to examination rooms, prepare them for assessments, and accurately gather and document pre-examination metrics such as height, weight, BMI, and vital signs.
  • Execute assigned clinical tasks, including taking vital signs, collecting urine and blood samples, administering injections, performing electrocardiograms, and managing routine dressing changes.
  • Support the healthcare team with specific medical treatments and procedures as required.
  • Administer and accurately document injections in accordance with facility protocols.
  • Maintain thorough and timely documentation of all clinical interactions within the facility's electronic medical records (EMR) system.
  • Facilitate effective communication and follow-up with both the healthcare team and patients.
  • Assist the healthcare team in various capacities, including clinical support, medical record management, and communication with relevant stakeholders, as well as maintaining the cleanliness and readiness of examination rooms.
  • Oversee the ordering, stocking, and maintenance of medical supplies and equipment in the clinical areas.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties to ensure a clean and sanitary environment within the office and clinical spaces.
  • Regularly inspect clinical areas and examination rooms for any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues, reporting findings to the appropriate personnel.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred, along with at least one year of experience in a professional office, customer service, or patient care setting.

Essential Skills:

  • Certification or registration must be verifiable through a recognized national agency, if applicable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, sound judgment, and strong interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Highly motivated with a willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database management.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and explain information to patients and their families.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide warm and friendly customer service.
  • Familiarity with basic medical terminology is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently.
