Practical Nursing Specialist

Job Overview
The Practical Nursing Specialist plays a crucial role in providing care to residents in accordance with established care plans and under the guidance of a registered nurse. This position is integral in upholding and advancing the mission, goals, policies, and procedures of the nursing department. Responsibilities include assisting in the development and execution of direct care based on nursing care plans, administering medications and treatments as per care plans and physician directives, and executing specialized nursing tasks as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the nutritional needs of residents
- Monitor residents for any changes in physical, social, or behavioral conditions
- Document and report observations to the supervising nurse in compliance with established protocols
- High School Diploma
- Completion of an accredited L.P.N. program
- Valid License in Good Standing in New York
- Experience in long-term healthcare settings
- Proficient in computer applications and Microsoft Office Suite
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal abilities
- Capability to collaborate effectively with staff, visitors, and residents
- Strong observational and analytical skills
This position is based in a healthcare facility. Shifts include 1st Shift (7:00 am - 3:00 pm), 2nd Shift (3:00 pm - 11 pm), and 3rd Shift (11 pm - 7 am). Availability to work every other weekend across all shifts is required.
