Core Responsibilities:

The Director of Content Marketing & Education will spearhead our educational and content initiatives, aimed at enhancing GuideStone's distinctive market position. This role is pivotal in assisting both prospective and current members, as well as ministry partners, in recognizing the value of our services, ensuring they can start well, stay well, and finish well.

This position will oversee teams responsible for generating content, thought leadership, and educational resources that empower our audience to achieve greater financial security and resilience. The ideal candidate will set a strategic vision for producing original, engaging, and informative content across various channels, while also sharing impactful stories from our members and ministry partners. We seek a leader who is committed to fostering a high-performing and engaged marketing team.

Key Duties:

  • Direct the planning, development, execution, and enhancement of a cohesive content, education, and thought leadership strategy that positions GuideStone as a trusted authority among members and ministry partners across diverse platforms.
  • Lead the educational strategy, content creation, and dissemination across owned and paid channels, ensuring our members and ministry partners are well-informed to start well, stay well, and finish well.
  • In alignment with GuideStone's overarching marketing and branding strategy, develop new content, update existing materials, and curate third-party content for initiatives such as Gloo and Lily Grant (Start Well Initiative).
  • Implement strategies to boost member and ministry partner loyalty, satisfaction, and lifetime value through effective communication and personalized experiences.
  • Create both annual and quarterly marketing and content plans informed by insights, target personas, and enterprise requirements.
  • Leverage data-driven insights to analyze content performance, manage engagement, and conduct quarterly content audits to refine our strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with subject matter experts across the organization to cultivate thought leadership and provide professional insights in content development.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of GuideStone's audience, business needs, and motivations to inform the creation of relevant and compelling content strategies.
  • Measure and demonstrate tangible business outcomes and ROI through effective content marketing and educational initiatives.
  • Lead and nurture a high-performing team of marketing professionals.
  • Oversee the full scope of supervision, including performance evaluations of assigned staff.
  • Establish strong relationships with key stakeholders at all organizational levels.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Membership in a faith-aligned church is required.
  • Experience in the financial services or insurance sectors is advantageous.
  • Exceptional writing and editing capabilities.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas and data clearly across various formats.
  • Proficient in managing workflow processes to meet deadlines and client expectations.
  • Ability to distill complex concepts into clear and engaging communication materials for diverse audiences.
  • Strong collaboration and negotiation skills, with a talent for influencing without direct authority.
  • A passion for GuideStone's mission and the ability to drive brand impact.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% annually.
  • Proficient in MS Office and relevant GuideStone applications.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality regarding GuideStone's business matters.
