Role Overview:

The Head of Content Strategy will spearhead our educational and content initiatives, aimed at enhancing GuideStone's distinctive position within the industry. This role is essential in assisting both prospective and current members, as well as ministry partners, in recognizing the value of our services and how we can support them in their journeys.

This position will oversee teams responsible for generating content, thought leadership, and educational materials that empower our clients to achieve greater financial stability and resilience. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader committed to cultivating a motivated, high-performing marketing team.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement a cohesive content, education, and thought leadership strategy that positions GuideStone as a trusted authority among members and ministry partners across various channels. Lead the educational content strategy and its dissemination through owned and paid platforms, ensuring our members and partners are well-informed to navigate their journeys. Align with GuideStone's overarching marketing strategy to create new content, update existing materials, and curate relevant third-party content for various initiatives. Enhance member and partner loyalty, satisfaction, and lifetime value through effective communication and innovative, personalized experiences. Formulate annual and quarterly marketing and content plans informed by insights, target personas, and enterprise objectives. Utilize analytics to assess content performance, manage engagement, and conduct regular audits to refine content and educational strategies. Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify and elevate thought leaders within the organization. Maintain a deep understanding of GuideStone's diverse audience and their needs to inform the development of impactful content strategies. Measure and drive tangible business outcomes and ROI through effective content marketing and educational initiatives. Lead and nurture a high-performing marketing team, overseeing staff performance and development. Foster relationships with key stakeholders throughout the organization.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline. Preferred Master's degree. A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. Membership in a faith-aligned church is required. Experience in the financial services or insurance sectors is advantageous. Exceptional writing and editing capabilities. Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences. Proven ability to manage workflows effectively to meet deadlines and expectations. Ability to distill complex ideas into clear and engaging communication materials. Excellent collaboration and negotiation skills, with a talent for influencing without direct authority. A passion for GuideStone's mission and a commitment to driving brand impact. Willingness to travel up to 15% annually. Proficiency in MS Office and relevant GuideStone applications. A commitment to maintaining confidentiality regarding GuideStone's business matters.
