Position Summary

The role involves supporting case managers in delivering interpretation services, essential support, and basic needs assistance to newly arrived refugees, asylees, and parolees. This includes collaborating with various public and private entities that offer services to these groups. The aim is to assist clients in accessing necessary resources, achieving economic independence, and fulfilling their objectives throughout their service period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 50% Facilitate interpretation services for clients during meetings with staff, appointments with service providers, and other assigned tasks.
  • 30% Deliver core services as outlined by cooperative agreements and refugee service contracts, including refugee orientation, social security applications, health screenings, school enrollments, and more. Responsibilities will be determined by the Program Supervisor in conjunction with the Case Management team, based on weekly arrivals and client-specific needs.
  • 10% Assist in documentation by providing detailed accounts of services rendered daily to the Case Manager, ensuring accurate records of all client interactions.
  • 5% Engage in supervision, program meetings, and training sessions related to service areas.
  • 5% Perform additional duties as assigned.

Supervisory Role: This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with refugees and/or diverse communities.
  • Valid Arizona driver's license and ability to drive.

Language Proficiency:

  • Fluency in one or more languages relevant to the current population.
  • Ability to interpret between English and one of the languages spoken by the current population.

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to work respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Effective communication skills to represent the needs of LSS-SW to various groups.

Mathematical Skills: Basic understanding of math and calculations.

Reasoning Skills:

  • Ability to identify problems, gather data, assess information, draw conclusions, and take appropriate actions.
  • Confidence in decision-making and knowing when to seek guidance.
