Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct home visits and phone assessments to evaluate the safety and suitability of the child's placement with their caregiver while connecting them to necessary community services.
- Provide ongoing case management focused on identifying and addressing the child's needs across various domains, including placement, safety, education, health, mental health, legal/immigration matters, substance abuse, independent living, and enrichment activities.
- Deliver crisis intervention services directly or facilitate connections to services to ensure the minor's safety and well-being during emergencies.
- Maintain detailed documentation in accordance with Global Refuge policies and procedures.
- Employ best practices in social work to assess the child's progress and the effectiveness of services provided.
- Ensure regular communication with supervisors regarding any concerns related to the child's safety and stability.
- Engage in ongoing supervision and additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in child welfare programs.
- Familiarity with community resources and the ability to connect families to necessary services.
- Strong clinical and crisis intervention skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Critical assessment and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Willingness to travel up to 70% of the time.
- Fluency in Spanish is required.
- Experience working with refugee or immigrant children is preferred.
- Cross-cultural or international experience is a plus.
Special Position Requirements:
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Must successfully pass an FBI background check and a CA/N check for every state of residence in the past five years.
