About the Position:

This role is an on-campus, in-person position.

Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Working Professional MBA Programs, this position is responsible for developing and implementing strategy for attracting and recruiting top candidates for the Working Professional MBA programs ensuring Cox remains competitive and continues to grow in this emerging area to drive critical revenue for the school, specifically the Professional MBA.

The Professional MBA represents 240+ students and competes amidst a highly competitive market for top students and is critical to the growth and reputation of the Cox school. This position will review applications and conduct interviews to assess the applicant's success in the program and future career goals, making admissions and scholarship recommendations.

Essential Functions:
  • Candidate Assessment- Lead application review for a portion of the Working Professionals MBA portfolio, conduct applicant interviews and make admissions and scholarship recommendations to Admissions Committee.
  • Recruitment Strategy and Execution: Develop strategy to recruit candidates for Working Professional MBA program in conjunction with larger admissions team, marketing, student services, the Program Director and other parties as needed. Translate vision into executable plan. Provide guidance to 3rd parties as needed on recruitment, marketing and admissions execution.
  • Marketing & Events Strategy and Execution- Develop and execute event strategy for Working Professional MBA programs. Represent SMU Cox at in person and virtual events to recruit top candidates. Present to prospective candidates. Collaborate with SMU Marketing team to promote events and drive leads.
  • Operational Excellence: Implement processes in Slate and other tools to streamline recruiting, application review, admissions, and yielding processes.
  • Provide additional support to broader Cox Graduate Admissions Team through other duties as assigned.
  • Position requires some evening and weekend work for admissions-related programming, in addition to occasional travel to conferences and recruiting events.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:

A Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years of work experience is required.

OR

A Master's degree and a minimum of three years of work experience is required

Experience in university admissions and/or marketing/sales preferred. An MBA or Masters in Higher Education Administration desired.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly across the University and develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituencies. Must also demonstrate strong written communication skills.

Candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and analyze problems, as well as devise solutions. Must also have strong organizational, planning and time management skills.

Candidate must possess strategic planning, implementation and assessment abilities. An understanding of MBA admissions is essential.

Candidate must have a strong working knowledge of MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) internet and communication systems. Experience with and/or a working knowledge of Salesforce, Slate and/or other admissions software preferred. Experience with and/or a working knowledge of social media tools desired.
