Compensation: Competitive base salary with quarterly bonuses

As a Clinical Liaison, you will serve as a vital resource for patients, guiding them through their healthcare journey and fostering connections within the medical community to enhance referrals and admissions to our Neuro Transitional Rehabilitation Center. Your clinical expertise will enable you to assess patient needs and present options for those who may not be aware of our specialized services and successful outcomes.

Your role will involve engaging with healthcare professionals across the region to facilitate access to extended therapy, aiming to empower patients towards independence upon their return home. We seek a dedicated clinician with a strong commitment to patient advocacy, who is willing to navigate insurance policies to ensure patients receive necessary care.

Our Neuro Transitional Rehabilitation Center is tailored for individuals facing challenges such as traumatic brain injury (TBI), spinal cord injury (SCI - C5 and below; not on vent), stroke, or other neurological conditions, particularly those at risk for unsafe discharge. Our facility is designed to create a homelike atmosphere while providing comprehensive therapy across various settings. Co-owned by Baylor Scott & White Health, our center instills confidence in our patients and referral sources regarding our exceptional care.

Key Responsibilities

Role Summary

In this prominent and fulfilling position, you will take on a leadership role, cultivating and maintaining professional relationships with case managers, physicians, and clinicians in acute care settings. Your responsibilities will include educating staff, patients, and families about the rehabilitation services available at our facility, as well as assessing patients for admission on-site at referring hospitals.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Expanding and nurturing our referral network throughout the market.
  • Advocating for patients to facilitate access to essential care.
  • Engaging with physicians, particularly those unfamiliar with our rehabilitation services.
  • Creating targeted lists of contacts and decision-makers in assigned hospitals, fostering relationships, and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Securing insurance approvals and authorizations, along with managing appeals for patients.
  • Ensuring high levels of referrer satisfaction and account retention.
  • Educating potential patients and their families about the benefits of acute rehabilitation programs.
  • Supporting Sales and Marketing initiatives through educational programs, tours, and meetings in assigned hospitals.
  • Formulating strategies to enhance market share in core business lines within assigned hospitals, establishing quarterly goals and objectives.
  • Collaborating with the VP/Director of Business Development to identify opportunities for strategic growth.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Current and valid state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Registered Nurse, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Language Pathologist is required. Multi-state licensure may be necessary based on geographical territory.

Preferred Experience

  • Two years of relevant experience in a clinical healthcare environment or prior experience in a clinical liaison role is preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the preadmission process, including assessments and relationship building in a rehabilitation or post-acute care setting is preferred.
  • A proven track record in sales and marketing, with at least one year of experience in a related position is preferred.
  • Experience with insurance approvals, prior authorizations, and the appeals process is advantageous.
  • Experience in workers' compensation is a plus.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency is essential.
  • Must exercise sound judgment in handling the professional and confidential nature of healthcare sales.
