As a Clinical Liaison, you will serve as a vital advocate for patients, guiding them through their journey towards the appropriate level of care. Your role will involve establishing and nurturing relationships within the local healthcare community to enhance referrals and admissions to our Neuro Transitional Rehabilitation Center. Utilizing your clinical expertise, you will assess patients and present options for those who may not be aware of our services and their potential outcomes.
Your mission will be to connect with healthcare professionals across the region, ensuring that more patients gain access to extended therapy, ultimately promoting their independence upon returning home. We seek a dedicated clinician who is passionate about patient advocacy and is willing to navigate complex insurance policies to facilitate access to necessary care.
Our Transitional Rehabilitation program is tailored for individuals recovering from traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, strokes, and other neurological conditions, particularly those at risk for unsafe discharges. Our center is designed to provide a homelike environment while offering comprehensive therapy in various settings, instilling confidence in our patients and referral sources regarding the quality of care we provide.
Key ResponsibilitiesRole Summary
In this prominent and rewarding position, you will take on a leadership role, developing and maintaining professional relationships with case managers, physicians, and clinicians in acute care settings. You will educate staff, patients, and families about the rehabilitation services available through our facility. Additionally, you will conduct assessments for patients with rehabilitation diagnoses at referring hospitals and oversee the referral process.
Specific Duties Include:
- Building and expanding our referral network across the healthcare market.
- Advocating for patients to ensure they receive the care they require.
- Engaging with physicians, particularly those unfamiliar with our level of care.
- Creating targeted lists of contacts and decision-makers in assigned hospitals, fostering relationships, and providing exceptional customer service.
- Securing insurance approvals and authorizations, and facilitating appeals as necessary.
- Demonstrating high levels of referrer satisfaction and maintaining account retention.
- Educating potential patients and their families about acute rehabilitation and the benefits of our programs.
- Supporting Sales and Marketing initiatives through educational programs, tours, and meetings in assigned hospitals.
- Developing strategies to enhance market share in core business lines within assigned hospitals, setting quarterly goals and objectives.
- Collaborating with the VP/Director of Business Development to identify opportunities for strategic growth.
Minimum Requirements
- Current and valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Registered Nurse, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Language Pathologist. Multi-state licensure may be required based on geographical territory.
Preferred Experience
- Two years of relevant experience in a clinical healthcare environment or prior experience in a clinical liaison role is preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the preadmission process, including assessments and relationship building in rehabilitation or post-acute care settings.
- A proven track record in sales and marketing, with at least one year of experience in a related position is preferred.
- Experience with insurance approvals, prior authorizations, and the appeals process is advantageous.
- Experience in workers' compensation is a plus.
- Demonstrated computer proficiency.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in handling the professional and confidential nature of healthcare sales.
