Position Overview

Key Responsibilities for Senior Credit Analyst:

  • In-office role requiring regular attendance.
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in commercial credit evaluation, with a focus on commercial real estate and commercial & industrial lending preferred. Experience with SBA and non-profit sectors is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline is mandatory.
  • Completion of specialized training in bank lending is essential.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in commercial real estate credit assessment.
  • Proficient in:
    • English language skills (reading, writing, and mathematical proficiency)
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
    • Strong organizational abilities
    • Proficient in PC applications, including Microsoft Office, and capable of learning specific financial software.
  • Ability to consistently manage a moderate workload with minimal supervision.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.
  • Capable of working under tight deadlines.
  • Developed skills in financial analysis.
  • Comprehensive understanding of current financial obligations.
  • Ability to mentor and train new personnel in Credit Administration.

Essential Duties:

  • Collects applications and financial documentation from prospective and existing clients, including tax returns, financial statements, and credit reports.
  • Conducts thorough analysis of financial data to assess the short- and long-term viability of individuals or businesses; evaluates the risk associated with extending credit.
  • Ensures compliance with established lending policies during all credit analysis activities.
  • Prepares cash flow analyses to determine the ability of clients to service their debts.
  • Calculates financial ratios to assess the financial health of clients.
  • Documents all financial analysis processes meticulously, ensuring reports are suitable for presentation to decision-makers.
  • May provide recommendations to management regarding credit structures and loan approvals or denials.
  • Assesses customer records and suggests repayment strategies based on financial data.
  • Identifies delinquent accounts for collection through careful review of customer files.
  • Compares financial metrics of evaluated entities with industry peers.
  • Analyzes third-party reports and documentation, including appraisals and environmental assessments.
  • Prepares comprehensive written analyses for review and presentation.
  • Collaborates with credit associations and business representatives to share credit information.
  • Engages with clients to verify financial transactions and resolve any complaints.
  • Effectively manages multiple credit requests of varying complexities.
  • Regularly reviews and updates existing loan customer files to ensure ongoing creditworthiness.
  • Maintains organized credit files with all necessary documentation.
  • Trains new credit administration staff as needed.
