Job Overview

Position Summary for Senior Credit Analyst:

  • This role requires a strong ability to commute to the designated office location.
  • A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in commercial credit assessment, particularly in commercial real estate and commercial and industrial lending is essential. Experience with SBA and non-profit lending is a plus.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is mandatory.
  • Specialized training in bank lending is preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in commercial real estate credit analysis are required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and analyze applications and financial data from prospective and existing borrowing accounts, including tax returns, financial statements, and credit reports.
  • Evaluate the financial data to assess the short- and long-term viability of individuals or businesses; determine the risk associated with extending credit.
  • Ensure all credit analysis adheres to established lending policies.
  • Prepare cash flow analyses to assess the borrower's ability to service debt.
  • Generate financial ratios to evaluate the financial health of customers.
  • Document all financial analysis comprehensively, ensuring suitability for presentation to the relevant approving authority.
  • Make recommendations regarding credit structures and loan approvals or denials.
  • Assess customer records and suggest repayment options based on financial data.
  • Review customer files to identify delinquent accounts for collection.
  • Compare liquidity, profitability, and credit histories of evaluated establishments with similar entities.
  • Analyze third-party reports and documents such as appraisals and lease agreements.
  • Compile written analyses in the required format for review.
  • Collaborate with credit associations and business representatives to exchange credit information.
  • Consult with customers to verify financial transactions and resolve any complaints.
  • Manage multiple credit requests of varying complexities consistently.
  • Review and evaluate existing loan customer relationships to determine ongoing creditworthiness.
  • Maintain and review credit files to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Train new credit administration personnel as needed.
