Job Summary

The Senior Commercial Banking Specialist is a key member of our team at First Mutual Holding Co., responsible for driving business growth and development in commercial banking. This role requires a seasoned professional with a strong track record of success in commercial lending, sales, and portfolio management.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Business Development: Acquire new commercial banking business by utilizing effective calling techniques to achieve corporate growth, maintaining and developing relationships with centers of influence, and attending networking and corporate functions for prospecting and relationship establishment.
  2. Portfolio Management: Manage portfolios and underwriting by coordinating with clients on accounts and other issues related to commercial relationships, working with commercial team members to facilitate credit application process, performing site visits, and working with underwriting to obtain decisions and perform annual reviews of assigned portfolios.
  3. Client Service: Work closely with other departments to handle client service issues and cross-sell other bank products, handling high-level executive account and loan requests to reinforce extraordinary service levels.
  4. Team Leadership: Act as a mentor to credit analysts, portfolio managers, and less experienced loan officers, offering advice, presenting learning opportunities, supporting relationship building, and assisting with training as needed.
  5. Professional Development: Attend training to continually improve sales and presentation skills, commercial, SBA, treasury management knowledge, and other applicable banking knowledge.
  6. Vendor Management: Manage service providers and vendors effectively, structuring relationships in a strategic manner, setting expectations, developing performance metrics, measuring vendor performance, providing feedback, and holding accountable.
  7. Compliance: Comply with all applicable banking laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, and related anti-money laundering statutes, and federal consumer protection legislation and regulations.
Requirements
  1. 7-10 years of commercial lending/sales experience and a demonstrated track record of success in meeting progressive plan goals, developing commercial business, portfolio management, and effective cross-departmental collaboration.
  2. Thorough understanding of commercial lending laws, regulations, and guidelines.
  3. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, statistics, business, or other related field; Master's degree preferred.
  4. Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software; EasyLender, Cleartouch, OnBase, CreditQuest, various government and investor software/web portals preferred; CRM software preferred.
  5. Experience in financial services or banking preferred.
  6. Completed, actively pursuing, or willing to begin progressive OBL/ABA certification courses related to position, required.
