Position Overview:
The Senior Commercial Lending Officer plays a crucial role in managing commercial banking for enterprises with revenues up to $60 million.

As a key member of the lending team, this position is accountable for achieving superior business development outcomes, effective portfolio oversight, collaboration, and professional representation.

This role also includes mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

Drives business development by securing new commercial banking opportunities through strategic outreach to support corporate growth; nurtures and expands relationships with influential contacts such as accountants, attorneys, community leaders, and professional associations; participates in networking, charitable, and corporate events to foster connections.

Oversees portfolio management and underwriting by liaising with clients regarding accounts and issues tied to commercial relationships; collaborates with commercial team members to streamline the credit application process, conduct site evaluations, and engage with underwriting for annual portfolio assessments; identifies, assesses, structures, and documents commercial credit transactions to maximize profitability while managing risk effectively.

Works in close partnership with other departments to address client service matters and promote cross-selling of additional bank products; manages high-level executive account and loan inquiries to uphold exceptional service standards.

Represents the bank professionally at civic and community events to enhance visibility and promote business development.

Acts as a mentor to credit analysts, portfolio managers, and less experienced loan officers; provides guidance, offers training opportunities, supports relationship-building efforts, and assists with educational initiatives as required.

Engages in ongoing training to enhance sales and presentation skills, commercial acumen, and other relevant banking knowledge.

Manages relationships with service providers and vendors; strategically structures partnerships, sets expectations, develops performance metrics, evaluates vendor performance, provides constructive feedback, and ensures accountability.

Adheres to all relevant banking laws and regulations, including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, and federal consumer protection legislation.

Qualifications:

Experience and Skills: 7-10 years of experience in commercial lending or sales with a proven record of achieving progressive goals, developing commercial business, and fostering effective collaboration.

Comprehensive understanding of commercial lending laws, regulations, and guidelines.
A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, statistics, business, or a related field is required; a Master's degree is preferred.

Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required; familiarity with EasyLender, Cleartouch, OnBase, CreditQuest, and CRM software is preferred.

Experience in the financial services or banking sector is preferred.
Completion of, active pursuit of, or willingness to undertake progressive OBL/ABA certification courses related to the position.

Work Environment:
