Senior Application Developer

Key Responsibilities:

FBL Financial is in search of a Senior Application Developer to enhance the Producer Incentive Compensation team. This role involves analyzing, designing, developing, and maintaining complex Informatica code. You will establish and uphold best practices while ensuring comprehensive documentation to support team workflows.



Your Duties Will Include:

  • Assessing and evaluating system applications. Developing new and maintaining existing applications of medium to high complexity, which includes coding, testing, and creating necessary documentation in accordance with company standards.
  • Conducting research and maintaining an advanced understanding of systems software to guarantee top-quality operations and implementations. Assisting the business with necessary process enhancements.
  • Collaborating with developers on resolving issues and providing relevant information about the system.
  • Offering guidance and direction to development staff on technical issues as required.
  • Keeping application development managers, project managers, and team members updated on the status of deliverables.
  • Building relationships with business and IT partners outside the team to ensure alignment with corporate objectives and strategies.
  • Addressing and resolving customer service inquiries promptly and courteously for external clients, department personnel, and other FBL Financial staff.
  • Staying current on system development methodologies and applying these techniques when analyzing and developing solutions for the organization.
  • Participating in on-call rotations as necessary to ensure 24-hour support for production systems. Assisting in identifying the root cause of system issues by collaborating with technical, business, and infrastructure teams.
  • Demonstrating a solid understanding of technical and business processes across the FBL Financial Services landscape.
Qualifications:

  • A college degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of extensive experience with Informatica is required (IDMC experience is strongly preferred).
  • Proficient skills in Informatica PowerCenter 10.1 or later, Unix commands, and GitHub - candidates must be able to demonstrate these skills during the interview process.
  • 3+ years of experience in SQL.
  • At least 2 years of experience with agile SDLC methodology.
  • Familiarity with data handling methods, development techniques, and proficiency in one or more programming languages.
  • Experience collaborating with business and technical partners across various organizational levels.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills suitable for this role.
  • Willingness to work in-person as required.
