How You'll Make an Impact
Team Collaboration
Assist in maintaining applications during and beyond standard business hours.

Support production deployments, which may occur during evenings and weekends, and contribute to post-deployment application validation.
Rapidly troubleshoot, assess, and resolve any issues that may arise.
Lead and participate in team meetings and feature discussions.

Software Design and Architecture
Craft foundational designs for both new and existing features.

Develop solutions that are performant, scalable, consistent, and maintainable, all while adhering to available scope, time, and budget constraints.

Engage in code reviews within your team and across other teams to ensure that implementations align with goals, standards, and best practices.

Deliver software that fulfills requirements by gaining a deep understanding of the product area to propose the best long-term solutions.
Write code that is testable at all levels (unit, integration, and end-to-end).
Assist in enhancing unit test coverage.
Review requirements and provide timely and constructive feedback to improve them.

Ask insightful questions to ensure that requirements are feasible, implementations are efficient, and designs align with the technical direction established by your team and architects.

Participate in estimating and prioritizing project requests.
Build relationships with architects, software engineers, quality assurance engineers, and product owners to collaborate on design and delivery decisions.

Contribute to prioritizing performance enhancements and addressing technical debt.
Understand common security vulnerabilities and best practices as defined by architects to mitigate security risks.
Design and develop technical solutions across all environments, leading to increased throughput. Others will reference your code as a learning example.
Product Proficiency
Develop a comprehensive understanding of your team's product domain and act as an internal subject matter expert.
Possess a basic knowledge of multiple product domains.

Experience You'll Bring

  • 6 years of relevant experience typical in this role
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
Experience with tools and programming languages specified by development managers for their teams
Strong knowledge of software development fundamentals and processes, design, documentation, testing, and tools
Effective in a distributed team environment
Strong oral and written communication skills
Hands-on experience with automated testing tools to assist with unit testing

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position.

Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.

Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
