Overview

The Financial Operations Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the fiscal health and integrity of the organization. This position is tasked with establishing standards and processes for effective financial governance while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. The role involves preparing financial reconciliations and reports by gathering, assessing, and summarizing account data. Additionally, the Financial Operations Manager leads strategic initiatives related to accounting policies and oversees internal controls governing financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Formulates, executes, and sustains systems, procedures, and policies to guarantee compliance with organizational standards.
  • Evaluates, applies, and enhances accounting policies, procedures, controls, and principles.
  • Supervises the monthly closure of financial records and the posting of all month-end journal entries.
  • Prepares and/or reviews relevant ledger entries and reconciliations.
  • Investigates financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account data.
  • Analyzes income statement trends to ensure the precision of monthly financial reports.
  • Establishes and manages tax policies and procedures.
  • Oversees the preparation of tax returns, ensuring timely and accurate tax payments.
  • Manages the preparation of annual 1099 tax reporting for relevant vendors.
  • Provides accounting support to all personnel; addresses financial inquiries to meet business requirements; assists other departments in developing strategies, setting objectives, and making decisions with financial implications.
  • Collaborates with external auditors, supplying necessary information for annual audits.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related discipline.
  • Over 5 years of experience in accounting and financial management.
  • Thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and capabilities.
  • High level of efficiency, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to use hands to handle or feel objects; reach with hands and arms. The employee will utilize a computer, copier, fax, and telephone equipment. The employee must be able to sit for extended periods and lift up to 15 pounds.
