CFC is seeking a Microsoft Systems Engineer to enhance our Business Technology Services team.

This role offers a hybrid work model, blending onsite responsibilities with the flexibility of remote work options.

The Microsoft Systems Engineer will oversee the effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software, and associated infrastructure within cloud environments.

This role also involves engaging in technical research and development to foster ongoing innovation within our infrastructure.

As a Microsoft Systems Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, recommending, planning, and implementing enhancements to the systems infrastructure.
  • Managing the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows operating systems, including troubleshooting issues.
  • Identifying and resolving problems related to server hardware and application software.
  • Establishing and documenting standards and procedures for management review.
  • Performing daily administrative tasks in SharePoint, such as user management and access control.
  • Ensuring the security and integrity of servers and systems through sound computing practices.
  • Evaluating system performance and metrics to propose service improvements.
To excel in this role, you will need:

  • An undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience as a Windows Server Administrator in cloud environments.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and analysis with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of server and network architecture, along with troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based architectures, specifically Azure and AWS.
  • Experience supporting applications and infrastructure on IaaS and PaaS platforms.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Servers, Active Directory (Azure AD), and VMware.
  • Understanding of information security principles and virtualization technologies.
  • Ability to create and troubleshoot shell scripts using Powershell or Python.
  • Skills to automate changes to mitigate security vulnerabilities.
  • Experience in managing security for cloud applications.
  • Knowledge of how software, hardware, and networks integrate within cloud and in-house systems.
  • Familiarity with O365, SharePoint, IIS, and SQL Server.
  • Capability to support SharePoint Online.
  • Proficiency in creating system context diagrams and documentation.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities.
  • Capacity to evaluate the cost/benefits of cloud versus on-premise systems.
  • Experience implementing cloud services and integrating them with in-house applications.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to collect, analyze, and present information effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and escalate issues to management when necessary.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining up-to-date knowledge of cloud technologies.
  • Skills to establish new processes and document existing ones.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
