Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized individual to join our team as a Housing Development Program Coordinator at the Downtown Emergency Service Center. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of affordable housing solutions for individuals experiencing homelessness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate internal activities related to real estate development, including site acquisition and project management.
  • Prepare and submit funding capital applications to secure necessary resources.
  • Facilitate communication with external consultants and stakeholders to ensure timely and effective project delivery.
  • Assist with construction project accounting, including data entry and reporting to lenders and investors.
  • Track project schedules and deliverables to ensure timely completion.
  • Provide regular reporting to supervisors to ensure project performance meets organizational expectations.
  • Collaborate with internal program staff to frame program-driven design questions and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Lead the transition of projects from development to operation, including the transmission of reporting requirements and asset management constraints to other departments.
  • Maintain an organized system for tracking and monitoring workflow and prioritizing tasks for Housing Development.
  • Provide administrative and operational coordination for housing development initiatives and special projects.
  • Liaise between Housing and other agency departments to coordinate and track shared work.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance program efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Assist with tracking and ensuring completion of facility maintenance and repairs during the warranty period.
Requirements
  • Commitment to the mission and goals of the Downtown Emergency Service Center.
  • Experience providing administrative support and familiarity with program management systems and procedures.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and coordinate work efficiently, prioritize workload, and work under pressure with tight timelines and changing priorities.
  • High level written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Ability to pass a Washington State Criminal background check.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, and word processing software.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision, managing multiple demands and interruptions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with external and internal stakeholders from diverse professional backgrounds to achieve project goals.
  • Initiative and creativity in problem-solving and system development, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Careful attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and quality in all aspects of work.
  • Commitment to the philosophy of cooperation and continuity across programs, with a focus on consideration and respect for clients.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent training and experience, such as an associate's degree and a year of relevant work experience.
  • Professional certification in project management or a related field, with a year of relevant work experience.
  • Two or more years of relevant work experience, preferably in property, housing, or architectural work environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience or training.
  • Two years of administrative and/or office experience.
  • Experience working in administration/coordination in a human services, housing, or healthcare setting.
