Job Overview

Position: Cyber Security Specialist / Navy Qualified Validator

Summary:

KMS Solutions, LLC is looking for a skilled Cyber Security Specialist with Navy Qualified Validator credentials to enhance our dedicated team of engineers and technical experts. This role involves providing cyber security technical assistance and Navy validator support to the Combat Systems Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of the Navy's Risk Management Framework (RMF) and a foundational knowledge of IT and networking.
  • Evaluate the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) System Security Plan for current systems; identify potential issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Analyze Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) and conduct Risk Assessments.
  • Familiarize and apply RMF policies, including the RMF Process Guide and DoN Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Perform independent security control assessments in line with NIST SP 800-37 standards.
  • Utilize and comprehend the e-MASS tool.
  • Exhibit strong organizational capabilities and meticulous attention to detail; excel both independently and collaboratively.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Secret DoD clearance.
  • Possession of an M IAM/IAT certification (minimum Security +; CAP or CASP/CISSP preferred).
  • Two to five years of experience in Cyber Security.
  • Ability to obtain Navy Qualified Validator status as designated by the Navy SCA.
  • Experience with ACASS, STIGViewer, and eMASS.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or higher in Cyber Security.
  • Experience with DoD 5000, active-duty Navy, and/or Navy acquisition is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Engineering background specifically related to undersea warfare systems and/or Combat systems.
  • Over four years of experience with Navy RMF.
  • Certification as a Navy Qualified Validator.

Work Environment:

Work Schedule:

The standard workday is eight hours, with some flexibility allowed upon supervisor approval. Employees are expected to be available during core hours.
