KEY RESPONSIBILITIES...

The Payroll Specialist position at Newport Mental Health focuses on ensuring precise and timely payroll administration for all staff, maintaining compliance with payroll regulations, and analyzing payroll data to aid in financial planning.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Administration
    • Oversee bi-weekly payroll processing with accuracy and punctuality
    • Validate timesheets for correctness and resolve discrepancies
    • Manage payroll deductions and generate payment statements
  • Regulatory Compliance and Reporting
    • Ensure compliance with payroll laws and regulations
    • Prepare and submit tax returns
    • Maintain precise payroll records for auditing purposes
  • Data Insights
    • Examine payroll data for insights and cost-saving measures
    • Collaborate with finance for budgeting initiatives
    • Offer recommendations based on data analysis
  • Employee Relations
    • Respond to employee payroll inquiries
    • Educate staff on payroll processes and benefits
    • Safeguard confidentiality of employee information
  • System Oversight
    • Update payroll software to ensure data accuracy
    • Work with IT for system enhancements
    • Conduct regular audits of payroll system data

QUALIFICATIONS...

  • Preferred: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Certification such as CPP or FPC is advantageous
  • Minimum of 3 years of payroll experience, preferably in a healthcare environment
  • Proficient in payroll software systems
  • Strong understanding of payroll principles and regulations
  • Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in MS Excel
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Discretion in managing sensitive information

This full-time role may involve occasional extended hours during payroll cycles. A hybrid work model may be available.
