Position Summary

KMS Solutions, LLC is in search of a dedicated professional to provide essential engineering and technical support to the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) in Newport, RI. This specialized team is engaged in delivering systems engineering and cybersecurity services to the U.S. Navy, focusing on the advancement of innovative undersea weapon systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as an independent evaluator to verify that the implemented system adheres to the approved security control baseline.
  • Evaluate the provided system without being responsible for the creation of the Security Authorization Package or system engineering tasks, which fall under the purview of the program or Information System Security Engineer.
  • Leverage the expertise of the Security Control Assessor to assist in validation, documentation, vulnerability mitigation, and assessment of residual risk.

Required Qualifications

  • Possession of a current Secret clearance, with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
  • Certification as a Navy Qualified Validator (NQV) in good standing.
  • An Information Assurance certification compliant with DoD 8570 (e.g., Security+) at IAT Level II or III is mandatory.
  • Two to five years of relevant experience in Cybersecurity, Engineering, Testing & Evaluation (T&E), or Assessment & Authorization (A&A).
  • Demonstrated experience in performing NQV activities as outlined in the Navy's Risk Management Framework (RMF) Process Guide.
  • Familiarity with DoD Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Services (eMASS) and Vulnerability Remediation Asset Manager (VRAM) for both NIPR and SIPR.
  • Knowledge of Information Assurance (IA) and Information Security (INFOSEC) principles, including Firewall Policy, Ports & Protocols, and DoD A&A processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in any discipline is preferred.
  • Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) Navy Systems.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance is advantageous.

Competencies

  • Strong time management skills to meet project deadlines.
  • Experience collaborating with distributed teams.
