Position Summary

KMS Solutions, LLC is in search of a dedicated professional to provide engineering and technical assistance to the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) in Newport, RI. This specialized group is engaged in delivering systems engineering and cybersecurity support to NUWC, playing a crucial role in the development of innovative undersea weapon systems for the U.S. Navy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as an independent evaluator to confirm that a system has successfully implemented the approved security control baseline.
  • Evaluate the provided system without being responsible for the creation of the Security Authorization Package or the engineering of the system, which falls under the purview of the program/Information System Security Engineer.
  • Leverage the Security Control Assessor as a consultant for all validation matters, documentation, vulnerability mitigation, and assessment of residual risk.

Required Qualifications

  • Current Secret clearance with eligibility for Top Secret clearance.
  • Certification as a Navy Qualified Validator (NQV) in good standing.
  • Information Assurance certification in accordance with DoD 8570 (e.g., Security+) at IAT Level II or III.
  • Two to five years of relevant experience in Cybersecurity, Engineering, Testing & Evaluation, or Assessment & Authorization.
  • Demonstrated experience in executing NQV tasks as outlined in the Navy's Risk Management Framework (RMF) Process Guide.
  • Familiarity with DoD Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Services (eMASS) and Vulnerability Remediation Asset Manager (VRAM) for both NIPR and SIPR.
  • Knowledge of IA/INFOSEC principles and requirements, including Firewall Policy, Ports & Protocols, Cybersecurity, and DoD A&A processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in any discipline.
  • Experience with DoD Navy Systems.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance.

Competencies

  • Strong time management skills to meet project deadlines.
  • Experience collaborating with distributed teams.
