YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES (KEY FUNCTIONS)...
The Payroll Specialist position at Newport Mental Health entails ensuring precise and timely payroll execution for all staff, maintaining compliance with payroll regulations, and evaluating payroll data to assist in financial planning.
Key Functions:
- Payroll Execution
- Oversee bi-weekly payroll processing with accuracy and punctuality
- Validate timesheets for correctness and resolve discrepancies
- Manage payroll deductions and generate payment statements
- Regulatory Compliance and Reporting
- Guarantee compliance with payroll laws and regulations
- Prepare and submit tax returns
- Maintain precise payroll records for auditing purposes
- Data Evaluation
- Examine payroll data for insights and cost-saving opportunities
- Collaborate with finance for budgeting initiatives
- Provide recommendations based on data analysis
- Employee Assistance
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries
- Educate staff on payroll processes and benefits
- Ensure confidentiality of employee information
- System Management
- Update payroll software for data integrity
- Work with IT for system enhancements
- Conduct regular audits of payroll system data
OUR EXPECTATIONS...
- Preferred: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- Certification such as CPP or FPC is advantageous
- Minimum 3 years of payroll experience, preferably in a healthcare environment
- Proficiency in payroll software systems
