Position Summary

KMS Solutions, LLC is in search of a dedicated professional to contribute to a team of engineers and technicians delivering engineering and technical assistance to the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) in Newport, RI. This specialized group is engaged in providing systems engineering and cybersecurity services to NUWC, playing a vital role in supporting the U.S. Navy's development of innovative undersea weapon systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Function as an independent evaluator who verifies and confirms that a system has successfully implemented the sanctioned security control baseline.
  • Accountable for the evaluation of the provided system, rather than for the creation of the Security Authorization Package or engineering of the system, which is the responsibility of the program/Information System Security Engineer.
  • Leverage the Security Control Assessor as a consultant to aid in all aspects of validation, documentation, vulnerability mitigation, and assessment of residual risk.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Current Secret clearance, with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance.
  • Must hold a Navy Qualified Validator Certification (NQV) in good standing.
  • An Information Assurance certification in line with DoD 8570 (e.g., Security+) (IAT Level II) or (IAT Level III) is necessary.
  • Two to five (2-5) years of relevant experience in Cybersecurity, Engineering, Testing & Evaluation (T&E), or Assessment & Authorization (A&A) related fields.
  • Proven experience executing NQV activities as outlined in the Navy's Risk Management Framework (RMF) Process Guide (RPG).
  • Familiarity with DoD Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Services (eMASS) & Vulnerability Remediation Asset Manager (VRAM) for both NIPR and SIPR.
  • Knowledge of IA / INFOSEC principles and requirements, including Firewall Policy, Ports & Protocols, Cybersecurity, and DoD A&A processes and standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in any discipline is preferred.
  • Experience with DoD Navy Systems.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance.

Competencies:

  • Strong time management skills to meet assigned deadlines.
  • Experience collaborating with distributed teams.
